What your friend did was completely rude. She isnt taking your feelings or situation into account at all.
If being a nurse technician is what you truley want to do, then your passion will make you better than her. If she's only doing the job for the money it will be half-assed attempts and she'll end up getting bored.
Don't let her insensitivity get you down. If you focus on yourself and what you really want to do, you'll get there

I have a friend who does the same thing.
What your friend did, as altertheend said, was really rude. You should tell her how what she said hurt your feelings. If she's really your friend, she will be more understanding of your situation.
