First time for everything!

Today I managed to go to the gym by myself for the first time ever

I can't do it. I have a gym buddy, and I won't go unless she's going. Even when I go to a female-only gym, no way!!

Thank you, it really means a lot to get some support. I was referred by my doctor to a scheme called "Healthstart" (you get 48 gym sessions at a reduced rate and free membership to the leisure centre for a year) which is supposed to help with depression and anxiety aswell as my weight problem. My mum was referred too as she's overweight but i'd never been without her before. It was a nice feeling to not have to rely on someone else for a change.

That sounds like a great program and I'm so glad you were able to go by yourself! I may have applauded when I read the first post. It just makes me so happy to hear about other people being able to do something scary for the first time.
